Face to Face is Better

Lord willing, I will be spending three months in Cameroon. I have tickets to fly out in mid-September and will return mid-December. Normally I won’t be gone from home for such a long period of time in the future. But for COVID related reasons a three month trip is the minimum right now. I talked with my doctor about this and he encouraged me to go. He said that the airplane ride is where I need to be the most careful. More importantly, after prayer and discussion, Julie is supportive of me going. Our Barnabas Team, and other dear friends have joined us in prayer and support our going.

On Monday, Aug 25, I begin teaching Intermediate Greek through zoom and then face to face for most of the semester. Once I arrive I will add a course on Biblical Eldership. I am so grateful for the possibilities that zoom opens up for teaching. But of course, to teach face to face with these men is precious beyond words.

Please pray as the semester begins tomorrow. I have the privilege to teach alongside of Dr. Dieudonne Tamfu and Dr. Ndzi Jones for this semester’s courses. Pray that we teach in the fulness of the Holy Spirit. Pray for the new MDiv students who are coming into the program and for the returning students that they will know and see the glory of Christ emanating from the Word of God as they study. Pray also for Julie and my family to thrive while I am gone. Finally, pray for our support to continue to come in. We are now between 50-60% of our full support.

Thank you dear friends for standing with us in your prayers.
