June 2022 Update

Greetings!

Your prayers are making a difference.

Praises and Prayer

1. The semester ended well. I was able to spend two weeks face to face. This ministry time was such an encouragement to me for sure and hopefully for them as well. They continue to be amazingly committed students. Please pray that they have a rejuvenating summer.

2. EMI (Engineering Ministries International) has finished their work in helping us do a thorough conceptual design of the ministry center we hope to build. We love the design! Pray that God will guide us in the vision-casting and fund-raising phase. We are pulling the promotional materials together and are almost ready to begin inviting others to join us in building the ministry center.

3. I am planning to fly to Cameroon next week to participate in the first Simeon Trust workshop offered for pastors in Yaounde. While our MDiv students will be attending, the workshop is designed for pastors throughout Yaounde most of whom have not had the opportunity for training in preaching. Pray that God will lead just the right pastors to participate. Pray also for Pastor Jeff Lacine (Bethlehem College & Seminary graduate, class of 2013). He is hoping to make these workshops a key component in our hope to bless the pastors of Yaounde and beyond with on-going encouragement in biblical expositional preaching.

4. Our students are divided up into 4 teams of three to teach the first course in the nine course TLI training  to four different groups. Pray for them as they recruit their class, decide on the date and venue, and prepare lessons for this 20 hour course.

5. Four Bethlehem College & Seminary students from Minneapolis will travel with me in July to Cameroon to teach two courses on "arcing". One of the courses will be for English speakers. The second course will be for French speakers. Pray for recruitment of the students and for the readiness of the teachers.

6. Another opportunity: we will be offering a pastors conference for 150 pastors the first week of August (see attached brochure). Pray that the preachers will be ready as we preach through Colossians and that the pastors will come hungry.

Thank you for your prayers for Julie and me. Julie continues to care well for her mom and run a business that is bringing honor to Him. She is cheering me on as I make these frequent trips to Cameroon. We are enjoying resurrecting our beautiful garden after it had to be dug up last year to lay down French tile to keep water out of our basement.

Our big news is that we are grandparents for the sixth time. Nate and Katelyn are the happy parents of Maeve Areme (pronounced Air-eh-may) born Tuesday, May 31. Do we look happy?
